Prairie Industries, Inc., a Nebraska corporation was founded in 2004 by brothers Ralph and Gary Miller. The purpose of Prairie Industries, Inc. is to develop, construct and operate a water bottling facility in the Sandhills of Nebraska.

As natives of the Sandhills we have enjoyed the benefits of growing up in a small rural town; the closeness of family and friends, a caring community, a quality education, a pace of life that is quiet and comforting yet productive and rewarding. Among these benefits are the enjoyment of the rolling hills, dotted with cattle, soapweed, the occasional row of trees planted as windbreaks, and the windmills pumping cool, clear water from the ground to water the livestock.

Our childhood memories include adventures at a neighbor's windmill. Marveling at the engineering of the water system that filled a cistern to supply the residence with fresh water then captured the overflow to run through a pipe under the drive and empty into the stock tank at the edge of the pasture. Watching the goldfish swim in the stock tank. Listening to the gentle squeak of the windmill as it turned in the wind and the rhythmic thumping of the shaft as it drew water from the ground. One of our pleasures was quenching our thirst on a hot summer day, filling the metal cup that hung from a nail at the base of the windmill tower.
That cool, clean, refreshing water that tastes like no other water anywhere. . . NATURE'S BEST!

This water from the Sandhills of Nebraska is the water that we produce and market. The aquifer supplying our wells, the Ogalala Aquifer, extends through a number of states in the mid-west. In the Sandhills of Nebraska, this water is naturally filtered through the fine sand and gravel that compose the soil of the region, enhancing its purity and taste.
The land in the Sandhills is used nearly exclusively for grazing range. Our water is isolated from sources of possible contamination or pollution. We do not have concentrations of chemicals used for fertilizer, pesticides or herbicides. There are no large population centers nearby to generate possible pollution.
The water of the Sandhills of Nebraska has excellent natural taste and natural purity . . . NATURE'S BEST!

Like many of our peers, we, for a time, chose to abandon this area to pursue education and careers not available in a small rural community. Not unlike those who chose to stay or to those who returned to their roots, we highly value our small town upbringing and greatly desire to "give back" to our community. We wanted a business that would allow us to enjoy the benefits of rural living, not be dependent on the local economy and allow us to be an asset to the community by creating new jobs and increasing revenues.

So, the concept of WINDMILL HILLS. . . Nature's Best Water was developed. We are now producing bottled water products for distribution to our customers. If you are interested in purchasing WINDMILL HILLS . .Nature's Best Water for your home or business, please contact us. We know you will like our water. We believe you will enjoy doing business with us as well.
